Science Sessions are hands-on activities organized for young people aged 13+ who like hands-on science. These are individual events which you can choose to attend as you like, perhaps alone or perhaps with your friends.
If you know how to use electrochemistry, you can conquer the world! At the very least you can use chemistry to create electricity, and vice versa.
Lots of people have seen lemon batteries before - we're going to explore how to improve the recipe. Which materials are best for your electrodes? What should go between them other than lemons? What is a lead acid battery anyway?
We'll also have a go at electroplating - using electrical circuits to coat metal objects in other metals with different properties.
Don’t forget to give us a call on 0191 243 8223 or drop us an email if you want to come (please mention your postcode when booking).
If something comes up and you can’t make it please let us know so that we don’t delay the start of the session waiting for you! You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 0191 243 8223 up until the Friday before, or call or text Noel on 07786332465 on the weekend.
