Enjoy exciting, immersive live science shows in our theatre. 

We’re shining a spotlight on the North East coastline in our live science show.

Join our Explainers as they journey through the waves, discover different animals you can find in our waters, and find out how local people are using the windy coastline to their advantage. 

Shows are on at various times throughout the day, show times are available on arrival.

During busy times, we request that you visit the planetarium and Science Theatre once. This is to allow other visitors to enjoy the experience too. Thanks for your consideration.

Accessibility information

The Science Theatre is a dimly lit area where live shows take place. A limited number of people will be able to go into the theatre at one time, and you will be able to sit within your group. Shows take place several times throughout the day and times are given to visitors on arrival.
 

Levels of music change throughout the show and might be loud in parts. Sometimes, people in the audience might clap or cheer. Ear defenders are available from reception for a refundable deposit. Lights and colours will change throughout the show.
